Events by Brawin is
pleased to be apart of the Public Relations effort supporting the Tsunami
Relief Campaign.
On Sunday, December 26th
most of us expected to continue our holiday festivities with family and
friends watching football and enjoying all of the usual traditions.
Unfortunately, the day
brought sadness and grief as we learned that an earthquake had devastated
the shores of the Indian Ocean.
As we all know by now,
over 150,000 people lost their lives on that day. Relief agencies believe
that a full 1/3 of the victims were children. The true impact of the
tsunamis may never be known as many bodies were swept to sea. In
addition, disease and starvation are expected to claim many more lives.
Many of the people who
remain are homeless and without the bare necessities needed to exist.
At this point, the main
objective for many of the humanitarian and government agencies is to
provide sanitation facilities and fresh drinking water in an attempt to
contain the spread of disease. The need for assistance, any and all, is
dire.
The true spirit of a
nation is reflected in how people respond to tragedy. Our office has
received many inquiries about how to help.
·
Will my small donation really make a difference?
The answer is
emphatically YES. This is the largest relief effort in recent history.
Every dollar helps when you think about the sheer number of people who
have lost everything that they own.
·
What organization can I really trust?
When making a charitable
donation, many of us are concerned that the moneys aren’t going where we
intended or for purposes that we intended. In an attempt to facilitate
your efforts to support the Tsunami Relief Campaign, I am providing
information on organizations that are credible and trustworthy. There are
many from which to choose. You will find links to their websites at the
bottom of this correspondence.
If you have a moment, reach out and let us know if
you have found this information helpful. We’d love to hear from you.
